DDR Refresh & Auto Refresh – Analytical Screen Monitoring Guide
DDR Refresh and Auto Refresh are dashboard monitoring functions used to update the analytical runtime screen during a replication job. They do not start a new replication, restart a job, or change the selected export template. Their purpose is to update the visible dashboard analytics so users can monitor the latest job status, source progress, target progress, workprocess usage, table count, database size, package size, and estimated completion information.
Purpose of Refresh & Auto Refresh
The DDR Dashboard is the analytical runtime monitoring screen for replication jobs. During execution, source and target processing continues in the background. Refresh and Auto Refresh ensure the analytical screen shows the latest available execution information for the selected export.
From the DDR Dashboard, users select the export they wish to monitor. Once the export is selected, users have two options: click Refresh for a manual status update, or use Auto Refresh so the screen updates automatically while the job is running.
Key point: Refresh and Auto Refresh are monitoring functions. They update the visible dashboard analytics for the selected export. They do not re-run the job, restart the job, or change the data selection.
Access the Dashboard and Select the Export to Monitor
From the DDR Central Console, select Dashboard from the left-hand navigation menu. The Dashboard displays the available export jobs and analytical runtime information.
Select the export you wish to monitor by clicking the radio button before the template name. Once the export is selected, the analytical status section below the export list will show the runtime information for that selected job.
Use Manual Refresh to Update the Status
Click Refresh when you want to manually update the analytical screen for the selected export. This is useful when the user wants to check the latest execution status on demand.
Manual Refresh updates the Dashboard view with the latest available job information, including source completion status, target completion status, category-level counts, source and target database size, workprocess information, package size, estimated completion time, and job runtime status.
| Manual Refresh Area | What It Updates |
|---|---|
| Export Status | Updates the selected export job status and current runtime indicator. |
| Source Status | Refreshes source-side progress, source record count, source DB size, and source workprocess information. |
| Target Status | Refreshes target-side progress, target record count, target DB size, and target workprocess information. |
| Analytical Dashboard | Updates the runtime analytics shown on the screen for the selected export. |
Use Auto Refresh for Continuous Monitoring
Click Auto Refresh when the user wants the Dashboard to update automatically while monitoring an active or long-running export job. This reduces the need to manually click Refresh repeatedly.
Auto Refresh is helpful during large refreshes, high-volume table processing, long-running jobs, and operational monitoring sessions where the user needs the Dashboard to remain current while the background replication continues.
Benefits of Refresh & Auto Refresh
Refresh and Auto Refresh improve the monitoring experience by keeping the DDR analytical screen aligned with the latest runtime information for the selected export job.
Recommended Usage
For short checks, use Refresh when you want an immediate status update. For active jobs that are being monitored continuously, use Auto Refresh so the analytical screen remains updated automatically.
Users should always make sure the correct export row is selected before refreshing the Dashboard, as the analytical screen relates to the selected export job.
