DDR Notification – End-to-End Notification Configuration Guide
DDR Notification functionality allows organisations to configure automated runtime notifications directly from the DDR Dashboard during SAP refresh execution activities.
The Notification feature provides operational visibility by automatically informing administrators, support teams, project teams, and business users about execution status, runtime monitoring, completion updates, warnings, and replication activities across SAP source and target systems.
DDR Notifications improve governance, execution visibility, operational communication, and runtime monitoring across enterprise SAP landscapes.
Purpose of DDR Notifications
DDR Notifications are designed to provide automated runtime communication during replication execution activities. The functionality enables SAP teams to improve operational monitoring by sending automated notifications during runtime processing and execution management activities.
- Execution monitoring activities
- Runtime operational visibility
- Execution completion communication
- Governance and operational tracking
- Refresh execution awareness
- Support and monitoring activities
- Large SAP refresh coordination
Access Notification Configuration from Dashboard
From the DDR Central Console, select Dashboard from the left navigation panel. Select the required export template by clicking the radio button before the template name.
Once the export is selected, click the Notification button from the top execution toolbar. This opens the DDR Notification configuration popup.
Configure Notification Email Address
After selecting Notification, DDR opens the Notification parameter popup where administrators can configure the email address that should receive runtime execution notifications.
Enter the required email address into the Email Address field and click Save. The configured recipient will receive operational runtime notifications related to the selected execution.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Email Address | Defines the email recipient that will receive DDR execution notifications. |
| Save | Saves the notification configuration for the selected runtime execution. |
SAP SMTP & SCOT Configuration Requirement
For DDR Notification functionality to successfully send runtime email notifications, the SAP system must have SMTP mail configuration and SCOT mail services configured correctly.
DDR Notifications use the SAP standard email framework for outbound communication. If SMTP or SCOT is not configured properly within the SAP landscape, notification emails will not be delivered to the configured recipients.
| Configuration Area | Description |
|---|---|
| SMTP Configuration | SMTP services must be configured within the SAP system to allow outbound email communication. |
| SCOT Transaction | SCOT must be configured with the appropriate mail host, SMTP node, and outbound settings. |
| Email Authorisation | SAP users and background execution users must have authorisation to send outbound emails. |
| Background Processing | SAPconnect background jobs should be scheduled to process outbound email queues. |
It is recommended that organisations validate SAP outbound email functionality before enabling DDR Notifications within production or non-production refresh activities.
Key Benefits of DDR Notifications
DDR Notification functionality provides automated operational communication, improved runtime visibility, and better governance across SAP refresh execution activities.
