DDR – Template – Create a New Template
This guide explains how to create a new template in the Dynamic Data Replicator (DDR) Template application. It covers the required configuration fields such as template name, category, transfer mode, connection, and scrambling options. The guide also highlights the importance of activating templates before use and outlines key rules for modifying and managing templates within DDR..
The Dynamic Data Replicator (DDR) Template application allows users to create reusable replication templates. A template stores the key configuration required for data replication, including group, category, transfer mode, scrambling option, and the connection used for the data transfer.
Open the Template application from the DDR menu and click Create to start building a new template.
Enter the required values in the Template screen and save the template. Advanced configuration can be completed after the template has been created.
Meaningful name for the template. Master data or based on process. Time based, Object based, or Full system copy. Select File, RFC, or Webservice based on the requirement. Scramble at Source: Scramble selected sensitive data at source. Select the correct connection for data transfer, such as File, RFC, or Webservices. Click Save to create the template.
Advanced configuration such as Business Objects, Custom Tables, additional filter conditions, and scrambling rules can be configured after the template has been created.
Activate the template once all related configuration is complete. Only activated templates can be used for data replication. A template cannot be modified once it has been activated. If the template is not activated, it can still be changed by selecting the unactivated template and clicking Change.
