How to Create a New Template

The Dynamic Data Replicator (DDR) Template application allows users to create reusable replication templates. A template stores the key configuration required for data replication, including group, category, transfer mode, scrambling option, and the connection used for the data transfer.

Step 1: Click Create

Open the Template application from the DDR menu and click Create to start building a new template.

Step 2: Maintain Template Details

Enter the required values in the Template screen and save the template. Advanced configuration can be completed after the template has been created.

Template Configuration Fields

Template Name

Meaningful name for the template.

Group

Master data or based on process.

Category

Time based, Object based, or Full system copy.

Transfer Mode

Select File, RFC, or Webservice based on the requirement.

Scramble Option

Scramble at Source: Scramble selected sensitive data at source.

Scramble at Target: Scramble selected sensitive data after refresh in the target system.

Connection

Select the correct connection for data transfer, such as File, RFC, or Webservices.

Save

Click Save to create the template.

Advanced Configuration

Advanced configuration such as Business Objects, Custom Tables, additional filter conditions, and scrambling rules can be configured after the template has been created.

Important:

Activate the template once all related configuration is complete. Only activated templates can be used for data replication. A template cannot be modified once it has been activated. If the template is not activated, it can still be changed by selecting the unactivated template and clicking Change.
